HBO将推出纽约著名雕像自由女神像的纪录片《自由：流民之母》(Liberty: Mother of Exiles，暂译)，今年秋天播出。该片将通过时尚设计师、新自由女神像博物馆的重要募捐者Diane von Furstenberg的视角，来探索这座雕像的历史和意义，及作为移民的Furstenberg对其背后故事的共鸣。探索将涉及到与自由女神像有关的很多人物：该雕像的策划者Édouard René Lefèbvre de Laboulaye、亚历山大·古斯塔夫·艾菲尔等人的后裔，人生受自由女神像影响的街头艺术家、工厂工人、在飓风桑迪到来前居住在自由岛的居民等。影片导演为曾给HBO和Cinemax制作过多部影片的Fenton Bailey和Randy Barbato(《派对怪兽》《罗伯特·梅普勒索普:看看那些照片》)。
